Mesalands Community College is located in Tucumcari, in the scenic mesalands of eastern New Mexico. Mesalands Community College is an institution of higher education that promotes student learning through quality education and services while fostering personal growth, leadership, and opportunity to a culturally diverse community.

The College is authorized by the New Mexico Commission on Higher Education to offer the Associate of Arts degree, Associate of Applied Science degree, and certificates in a wide variety of disciplines.

Programs at Mesalands

Associate of Arts degree with options in a wide variety of disciplines. The Associate of Arts degree is designed for those students who wish to satisfy the requirements for the first two years of a bachelors degree before moving onto a four-year college or university.

Automotive Technology blends classroom instruction and hands-on lab experience in state-of-the-art facilities.

Agricultural Business and Animal Science programs offer a comprehensive education aimed at preparing the student for a successful career in agriculture.

Business Administration and Business Office Technology programs offer instruction in skills needed to operate and manage a business and use the latest electronic technology in a business setting.

Commercial Truck Driving at Mesalands enjoys national recognition. The program is certified by the Professional Truck Drivers Institute and offers a great deal of behind-the-wheel experience in a variety of rigs.

Computer Information System and Computer Science students learn about the latest computer systems and applications in preparation for a career in this highly paid field.

Diesel Technology combines classroom instruction and hands-on lab experience in state-of-the-art facilities.

Farrier Science prepares students to work in this high-paying, high demand career. Instruction includes classroom training and plenty of hands-on work with live horses.

Fine Arts and Fine Arts Bronze allows artists to work in an outstanding one million dollar facility while gaining experience in all facets of art, sculpting and casting.

Nail Technology offers a certificate program where students are prepared to enter the rapidly growing manicure and pedicure profession.

Natural Sciences at Mesalands features studies in paleontology and geology in one of the richest deposits of early dinosaurs in the world, found in Quay county. Students in these programs also have the unique opportunity to be involved with the College?s Dinosaur Museum.

Rodeo is the ONLY sport at Mesalands. The coeducational team includes students from around the country who compete throughout the region in National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association sanctioned competitions.
